SMS Messaging


Aim

To enable simultaneous communication with contacts in a timely fashion.

Features and Benefits

A customised in-house solution integrating with SIMS to provide real-time information and interact with contacts on a number of topics (from school closures to student absences). This saves administrative time and has been shown to reduce costs by 70% over a 3 year period.

Detentions


Aim

To replace a paper based system with an online version for managing detentions.

Features and Benefits

The system enables the online scheduling, attendance tracking and re-scheduling of detentions. Certain detentions trigger automatic SMS messaging alerts to a student’s primary contact. The current details can then be viewed online at any time.

The system provides school-wide visibility of detention activity through the use of reporting; enabling efficient monitoring and feedback.

Incidents


Aim

To allow the tracking and sharing of a student’s progress through the school.

Features and Benefits

As an incident occurs, it is logged online against a student and details shared, via email, with all staff connected to that student. Each incident is tracked from creation through its subsequent actions, triggering notifications to relevant individuals. The system also allows for interventions and file notes to be logged against each student’s record.

Incidents are categorised to enable overall monitoring throughout the school which enables trends to be spotted and addressed quickly.

Monitoring & Evaluation


Aim

To assist with the improvement of teaching standards within the school, in preparation for OFSTED inspections.

Features and Benefits

Used primarily on mobile tablet computers, this system enables comprehensive evaluation of teaching practices around the school by using a set of customised questionnaires and a weekly rota. Observations are fed back to the teachers immediately and analysed on a larger scale at the end of each term to determine trends and highlight areas for improvement.

One customer has since used this system to increase their OFSTED rating to ‘outstanding’.

Homework


Aim

To provide an online reference point for students and staff to access and monitor homework.

Features and Benefits

An online system that works in conjunction with the standard paper homework planners and allows staff to put homework tasks online for students to view. This enables students to have electronic access to detailed notes and tasks at any time. Daily emails are sent to students and parents to keep them informed of pending tasks.

Staff can establish their individual homework schedules and the system allows these patterns to be monitored.

Class Profiles


Aim

To outline student progress enabling tutors to accurately plan lessons.

Features and Benefits

The system assimilates information over the course of the year and visually compares year end and current performance levels in relation to targets. This data is then available for lesson planning, assessment and staff practice.

6th Form Selection


Aim

To provide a fair, random method of selecting applicants for places in 6th form.

Features and Benefits

Details for each applicant are uploaded to the system and held 'anonymously' while a number of iterations are generated on the data. The process will place applicants in a random order testing each applicants choices against the available spaces in classes. Once complete, the iteration with the highest number of successful applicants is selected.
